We can get very excited about a sporting event and we will shout and cheer and clap, but often our enthusiasm wanes when it comes to the things of God. What a tragedy! If there was anything to get excited and enthusiastic about it is the Good News of Jesus Christ and His powerful, liberating Word!Let's look at three men in the Bible who characterised and preached the godly lifestyle:
- Paul
- King Jehosaphat - "a man who enthusiastically served the Lord"[2 Chronicles 22:9]
- Peter - Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. [1 Peter 4:10-11]
