Day 1: The Cotton Candy Clouds...

~ 14th March 2014, Friday ~
Enjoying the beautiful view....
We have our seats pre-booked. Time for mi mama to look into the blue sky and cotton candy clouds. I have had my fair share of staring into those beautiful sky during my previous flights. The best clouds were those on the way to Beijing but the air-stewardess from Shenzhen Airlines had her eyes like hawks on my hand because photography in flight was not allowed. So, what's actually outside that small little window other than getting the pinching hot sunlight shining through. You know we have been covered with haze in March so I have not seen clear blue sky for a few months.
Aaaa.... wwwoowwwwooowww..... camera.... where's my camera?
I was telling myself that I should not take out both my cameras, one in my pocket and one snuggled in the bag under the seat. Don't take out the camera.... don't take out the camera... just enjoy the view as it is. I was leafing through AirAsia's in-flight magazine and then I just felt like taking a peep out of the pigeon hole. And it was.... wow~!!! I was frantically digging out my compact camera from my pocket but after that I was pulling out my big camera snuggled comfortably in its bag. I can assure you that the poor camera was overworked and underpaid.... not paid at all in fact. The flight was a little under 4 hours and I spent one hour doing nothing and two hours looking into the clear blue sky and I think I finished up two batteries from the camera but of course I showed only a few photos here. Don't fancy showing everything... you have to experience it yourself, see it with your own eyes. It's different from looking at photos.
Fluff fluff...
Are we at the polar region?
Flying above and through the fluffy clouds...
IF only I know how to skydive.... but how high above do you start skydiving? I totally have no idea and I don't think I will ever have the chance to do so. I want to touch those clouds but there shouldn't be anything as they are just made of water vapours with charged particles? That's what I know from Science. God is so meticulous in creating everything under the sun.
Let us take a selfie first....
Let's take a photo of ourselves. I have less photos of myself in this trip. You will get bored passing your camera to others to take your own photo and then if the result came out not as you wish, then it's better not to take at all. I prefer holding the camera and fire away. I know what I want to appear on the screen and how I want the photos to turn out like.
The busy Hong Kong sea...
Hey, sign of humans down there. We're nearing the airport in Hong Kong on the island of Chek Lap Kok, so the airport runway is just by the sea. You will need very experienced pilot for a good landing. You know which airlines to travel with now? None other than our....
亞洲航空.... AirAsia
Eh, why am I advertising for AirAsia? AirAsia no give me water to drink also... I always almost choked to death coz' my saliva was totally dried up and I cannot afford to buy the expensive drink and I'm too stingy to buy food. Can give me a big bottle of water for free next time? Aiya, don't have also never mind coz' I don't want to go to the toilet.

Day 1: As We Prepare to Leave the Island... And Off We Went....

~ 14th March 2014 ~
It was on a Friday morning that we took off. Thank God I checked our flight tickets. I thought we were going to fly on the the 15th of March 2014. No doubt I'm a very last minute person, I did check all the details and remember to bring our passports along and did a very last minute online check-in.
The important things when I travel...
I'm a rather easy-going traveler. I just need to make sure I have my t-shirts and jeans, undies, extra pair of socks or I can just go and buy socks, jackets - thank God it was spring and not winter, a towel and that's it. The most important stuff that I will always always always bring along with me are those adapters and extra connectors and all my memory cards for my cameras. I know I always intend to travel as light as possible but this time round, it was almost crazy. I wonder how can people wear those lovely dresses or go in beautiful blouse and flowery skirts with heels. I have never done that. I did bring along two dresses that  neither see the sunlight nor the moonlight for a month hiding in one of the corners of the luggage.
Our luggage for two
As a last minute packer, I packed our three luggage the night before, almost sacrificing away the sleep. Anyway, I have not been sleeping well one month prior to the trip as Pinky (my international travel buddy) and I were so busy trying to put things into plan for our trip together. We did a great yet lousy job in planning for this trip, in the end I surrendered everything to God to carry out for us the plan. Only part of our plan took off, the rest was long-forgotten.

What's with those three luggage? Three-quarter of the large luggage was filled with nutmegs which I brought over to my family in China. Next time round, I will have to remember to bring 'bah kut teh' mix for them. They were actually asking for durians which I couldn't possibly bring over. So, how much clothing do you need for a month? I only have 10 days of clothing with me so you can see that I totally don't have enough to wear and I need to wash my clothes on a holiday. It's something that I don't do. I depend on my hubby to do the laundry. I have no idea how to operate a washing machine. I'm a pampered lot. Never touch laundry basket before but I did buy one at home.
Good morning Mr. Sun....
Hey, Mr. Sun. Fancy seeing you at the airport. It's freaking early to be at the airport. We practically spent hours at the airport waiting for our flights. It has been two months since so I couldn't remember what time we flew off to Kuala Lumpur. But AirAsia, you are so punctual. I love you very much.
The taste that we missed for a month...
We had our brunch in Kuala Lumpur's LCCT. Taste of Asia, no doubt it's expensive and not that delicious but let me tell you this, I was having such a bad craving for Malaysian food for the one long month. And it's a mistake to have brunch. Our next meal was dinner in Hong Kong and we were so hungry I was thinking of eating off anything that's edible.
Cute loaf of cake bread...
How do you bake such cake or bread? It's from Baker's Cottage in LCCT... also our lunch? Geez... I'm not even sure. You know I love to read whenever I travel alone. This time round, I'm actually bringing mi mama for a warm up trip before she embarks on further journey with longer flying hours. It's mi mama's second flight. Her first flight was from Penang to Kuala Lumpur earlier. I wished I have had a warm up flight before my first flight out straight to Melbourne which I almost went berserk, I was contemplating on kicking the chair in front of me and to punch the person sitting next to me for talking to me for so many hours. I do not like to be confined in a small space and I feel that the seats between AirAsia's plane is really suffocating but I still love AirAsia. This time round, I brought a book along but I don't feel like reading. I just wanted to waste my many hours away. I have my smartphone with me so I was online and posting photos on Facebook every few minutes to kill boredom, or rather, to kill time.
A marketplace at the airport...
Flying is no longer a luxury. Taking a flight is just another form of transportation. You spend more hours at the airport rather than on the plane if you're flying domestic. And for this one, we were waiting for our international flight. You know what's inside that black backpack of mine? Shucks. I have a tripod stand with me. My intention of placing my footsteps in other countries with as little things on my back as possible, it went awry. I have a sling bag with me where I stored all our passports and important stuff with me. Another sling bag for the camera and a backpack. Damn! I felt like I was carrying a baby elephant all throughout the journey.
My poor BUM shoes...
That's a new pair of BUM shoes alright, at RM2 only after discount and after using up the consolation prize that I won from GAMA departmental store's lucky draw on something. Praise the Lord for that. That's the best shoes to walk around in. No regrets getting this pair. Follow me on my one month's journey... I'll keep on writing whenever I find the time to do so. It's one spectacular journey which didn't go so well here and there but I could safely say that it's a good one till the next trip.
