Chinese New Year 2010

As you grow older, the celebration becomes duller. It's more like a family gathering with reunion dinner. Dinner after dinner... it's all about food...

Then house hopping to but no red packets this year round. Only internal circulation. External all stop at once.
Then, of course bonding time. Not among cousins but me with the nieces and nephews. A few cousins of course... my favourite niece...
Games... Twister...
... and also Wii... it's great dancing with the kids.. after much practice, I won!!
Then it was food... and more food... this year I was not in the mood of snapping photos...
Starbucks with 15 people. The place was kinda small but it was to celebrate another niece's birthday. Initially we wanted to go to Secret Recipe but then the Secret Recipe in Village Mall has only one type of cake left - Durian Cheese. I don't think the kids will like it.
Had my face coloured... don't like it at all...
... but I like the hair-do...

Christ, The Centre of Life...[106]

Proverbs 3:5-6 expands and highlights the truth. In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success. The real way to success if to "put God first" in your relationships, your decisions, your career and your finances. Jesus summed up this same truth when He said...
Jesus further highlighted this truth in the commandments when He stated that you should ..
To put God first and discover His wisdom we must have the right foundation and Paul reveals that in 1 Corinthians 3:11
Paul challenges us to put God first in our lives and activities, when he says...

Total Boredom...

Taking a flight is a total waste of time. I do enjoy flying but not the waiting time. Waiting for departure. Waiting for luggage. Waiting for this and that... When there's nothing much to do, whip out the camera from the bag and start making everyone the star of the nite...
Those are beautiful smiles... Come on.... all of you can do better than that...
Yay! Lovely fingers... then it started to get bored. I myself was bored waiting for the boarding time... Those faces reflect how bored they were...
Almost dozed off when suddenly... time to board the plane!
Goodbye everyone~! See you in future...

A Visit to the Pig Sty...

Oink~! Oink~! Not my first time there. In 2008 I think I had another post but this time round the photos came out better. Used to stay there during the hols when I was small... not staying in the pig sty la... stayed at grandma's house. The cock crows before the sun rises. Then, the stench of pig shit... oh, my... but then now it's cleaner. They bathed the pigs every few hours so that the pigs will not be bathing in their own shit plus food.
Cute little piglet. More pic in my fb album... too lazy to blog and upload photos in fb at the same time. Tedious job...

Forgive Me For Being A Fool...[105]

From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.
[Proverbs 12:14]

Solomon's theme on the power of the tongue and importance of what we speak to ourselves and other people. We either bless ourselves or curse ourselves with our words.

The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgement.
[Proverbs 10:21]

A fool's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
[Proverbs 18:7]

The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to a man's inmost parts.
[Proverbs 18:8]

From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled;
with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.
[Proverbs 18:20]
If you want to receive "a good harvest from your lips" make sure you sow the right seeds. Your thoughts ar seeds for future deeds.

Words can:

W - Wound, wreck and worsen or bring wisdom, wealth and be wholesome

O - Offend and bring obstacles or open doors, offer opportunities and cause you to overflow

R - Ruin, rail, rip and be rough and rude or they can revive, refresh, renew, restore and reward

D - Destroy, defeat, deceive, discourage, divide or delight, deliver and bring desires, dreams and discoveries

S - Snare, split, spoil, strangle and sour or sparkle, sharpen, satisfy, sooth and strengthen
PS. I seek for your forgiveness for what I've done to our friendship. I pray that you will forgive me.

God's Vision Never Lacks God's Provision...[104]

The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
[1 Thessalonians 5:24]

It is important to remember, that a need never constitutes a call. It can well lead to a call but does not constitute a call. There are hundreds of needs around us daily and so it is very important to know what God wants you involved in. When you know God has called you to do something, then you can know He will be faithful in guiding and providing for you. And when the going gets tough, you can rely on the Lord's strength and enabling because He was the One who call you.

...so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them.
[1 Thessalonians 3:3]

...who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
[ 1 Peter 1:5]

Make sure, whatever you get involved in, has the call of God upon it. Then you can totally trust and know that Lord's faithful and enabling hand upon your life and ministry.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[1 Thessalonians 5:23]

Gong Xi Fa Cai...

Happy Chinese New Year. I've lost much yet I've gained much, too. I know now that I have my sister who will stand by me no matter what. It's a deep lost but I shall leave it to God. I fully comprehend now the time for cooling off things and to see whether it is worth living for that something or not.

Time to pack my luggage. There are just too many things to get into one cabin bag. I'm not going to fly anywhere, just have to drive around from Penang to SP, making at least 4 trips in 4 different days. I will need all the sleep and relaxation to drive up and down the hour-long journey via the North-South Highway. This year, I will make things more lively. Last year was just eating and snapping at least 650++ photos.

This year, I have planned more things. I will bring my kite over. Bought Twister for everybody to twist their bodies into one heap of monstrous pile. I hope I don't hear any 'crack' sound. Then, of course I can't wait for my very own portrait photoshoot. I'm loving this. I'm truly blessed to receive next year's birthday present so early from sis and BIL. Oh, not to forget bringing over the badminton racquets and also my lappie and broadband. I think I'll want to do some accounts paperwork as well. I'm also not going to forget to bring my camera along. It will be great memory snapping photos.

Gonna visit the water theme park and have a splashing fun time but now I can't seem to find the time. I only have seven days there. Now, it seems like there's not enough days. I wish for a longer holiday.

After this one week break, I will be busy working for another two weeks then I declare my own holiday for another week as Pinky's flying in from China. Can't wait to see her... wow!

Things That I Never Get To Say...

I've always like my life years back before I have Internet connection for so many years. I don't really enjoy getting hooked to the Internet. It brings the devil out of me.

Due to my Internet obsession, I practically ruined the friendship that I cherished. It's too late to be honest, now. I've never enjoy the rigid time spent chatting, but whenever I wanted to say it out loud, I said otherwise. Out of frustration, the chat went in circles and ended up in arguments. Now that it's over, finally I have the courage to voice it out loud and clear. That also I have to write it here, my online journal that I've abandoned once too often.

I have many chances to say it out loud to you, but I never do that. I don't know why I didn't say it out loud. I don't want to spend time with you online every week. I'm tired of it, too. Most of the time I have nothing to say, thus we ended up in quarrels and more quarrels. In fact, I don't like to be obsessed with the Internet. I'm like a slave to the Internet. I know we're not compatible and I only want us to be friends at arms length. That also, I don't know how to tell you.

Old habits die hard. I only say things out loud when it's too late.

Finally...

Reading from that small section of news in the paper, it's sort of a good news that Malacca has launched the opening of its international airport. I've always wanted to go to Malacca but looking at the means to go there, I have to forego the idea as there's neither airport nor railway station there. I do not enjoy travelling in an express bus. Driving for such a long distance isn't a good choice either. All the postponements seem worth while as now, I can choose to either fly AirAsia or Fireflyz to Malacca.

I'm looking forward for holiday trips.

I'm Evil...[103]

Avoid every kind of evil
[1 Thessalonians 5:22]

Appearances can be deceiving. However, we must watch our appearances as people are watching. Some people say it doesn't matter how we look on the outside or what we do, for God looks at the heart.

Yes, that is true and remember He is the only one that does! Man DOES look on the outward appearance and it does give a message, so watch your outward appearance.

Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be. [1 Thessalonians 5:22] from the Amplified Bible

God always replaces a negative with a positive. When He says to "put off something" He always tells us to replace it, by "putting on something".

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. [Romans 13:14]

For the ear tests words as the tongue tastes food. Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.
[Job 34:3-4]

The secret to mind pollution is to memorise and act on the Word of God.

Kite-flying...

Last Sunday was my first time flying a kite. I've always seen people flying one but I did not have the kick to start flying one until recently when I saw all the beautiful kites. I think I'm gonna buy a few nice ones with different shapes and sizes. I got myself a huge kite.
Last Sunday wasn't windy enough. It took some time to get the kite up then God sent the wind to blow the kite high up in the sky. It was surely nice pulling and tugging to make sure that the kite stayed up there in the clear blue sky... what was I pulling?
AirAsia plane? Nah... I wasn't pulling that... I was pulling this...
Clearer view of my kite...
I've got great time flying my kite until God decided it's time to go home and continue with my shopping as the wind died after an hour. Most of the kites in the sky were brought to the ground.
I'm truly impressed with the kite-makers who came up with brilliant shapes. They're all made in China. I'm gonna get the eagle-shaped kite next....

Colours Make My Life Beautiful..

The cheesy tarts from SP... not that nice but I love the colours... and what I love most is a surprise that comes in a box...
... and the pressie inside is what I've always wanted...
...a smiling piggy... so cute..
...with 'I Love You' on its body... then another surprise that comes on a plate... I always tell the kids don't play with their food but I remembered playing with my food, too. This is what I called creativity...
... a heart-shape shaped by a couple of prawn shells decorated with two slices of potatoes and carrot slices around the circular plate.
Yellow tarts. Durian tart, coconut and pineapple tart, chocolate tart and Hong Kong siew pao. I don't really like that coconut tart, will get other flavours this Sunday from John King in Queens Market, Queensbay Mall. *free advertisement for John King*

Double Blessing...

For this year, I have very different cakes instead of my favourite chocolate, chocolate and chocolate. The first one was chosen by my SIL - a black forest cake. It was deliciously yummy but the second cake was better than the first......cheesy oreo which was so tasty. Just thinking back 'bout the soft, creamy cheese makes me salivate... *slurp* Lip-smacking good~!

It is great to have a double celebration every year. I feel so blessed... praise God for that!

When I'm Not The Only One...

Receiving the yellow warning bill is not my first time and I doubt it's gonna be my last as well. I have even received a red coloured bill. There's nothing to be ashamed of.

The usual trip to TNB in Anson Road used to be a 10-minute affair. Take the number, before I can get my butt to warm the chair up, my number is called. Payment takes only less than 5 minutes. But last week, it was a totally different case.

I stepped into TNB and was surprised to see so many people with only a few empty seats left. It took more than half an hour before my number was called. Not prepared for the long-wait, I did not bring my story book or newspaper along. It was just a few minutes after 8a.m. and so many people were eager to get their electricity bills paid. I was looking around as I had nothing much to do. Hahaha.... I had a great laugh. Seriously, I wasn't the only one holding that yellow warning letter. Out of 10 person, 9 were holding them including all those oldies who looked like they're up-to-date paying users. There were at least 50 people waiting and a few left as they were rushing for time. Most probably rushing off to work...

Looks like all the mammoth companies seriously need to receive their payment due to the bad economy. Even Maxis is calling directly to remind me to pay 2 days before the due date. For my Astro, I just said goodbye to the service as I can live without having a television.
