A Great Week

It was indeed a fabulous week. Went to take a good taste of Japanese cuisine.

My favourite dish of octopus in their special sauce....Ajitsuke Idako... but it was very salty. The unagi tofu was also kinda salty. Why do the Japanese love to eat salty food? Don't they have any kidney problems? The mix fry was quite a combinatione. There was one for each: Fried hotate, chicken katsu, potato croquette, salmon cheese tofu, ebi salmon fry and salmon fry. The taste was terrific. The soft shell crab was worth the price paid. No matter what, I will always say that eating out these days are just very pricey. I will have to learn how to prepare Japanese dish. Getting the ingredients shouldn't be a problem, though.
The cheaper version of Japanese dish can be bought in Jusco. Really cheap and delicious. The octopus wasn't salty..... I just love the taste.
Last two Saturday, I boarded the Rapid Penang to Teluk Kumbar. It was a good ride as the bus was in a very good condition, clean...cold...fast...a rapid ride. But last Saturday, I waited for half an hour for it but there was no sign of bus U401. I was kinda upset.... so I drove there. On the way, stopped at one of the famous coffee shop. It is famous for its seafood porridge and noodles during dinner. It was in Sungai Tiram. I did not pay attention to the name of the shop. In the morning there were only these few dishes.... simple yet delicious and EXPENSIVE.....

Of course I went for another skating session but this time wasn't so much fun as my preferred people wasn't there. Just skate for a couple of hours. I wonder how did some of them were able to skate for hours and hours without having blisters.

Then watched two movies in a row on Friday. The rate was only RM7... didn't even know that.

Bruce Willis was not the main star in this movie but Halle Berry was. She was one beautiful lass.... convincing and conniving. It wasn't an action packed movie but more of how a person manipulated another. The truth about the murder was only found out at the end of the movie... The ending was kinda hanging in the air... I over whether there's going to be a Perfect Stranger 2.

In conclusion, I didn't find the movie that interesting. Just so-so.
Then after lunch in Sakae Sushi, rushed for another movie...
Rogue Assassin starring Jet Li and Jason Statham. This one was real action. Jet Li came for revenge. He was cooperating with the Chinese triad, the Changs, and also the Japanese triad, the Yakuza yet at the same time sold them out. It was really ganas. Don't think much about the Hollywood Science, just concentrate on the movie, it was A+ for this movie.

Then earlier, I went for two more movies.... Those two are hillarious and enjoyable....

Ratatouille was just a farmer's dish that moved Ego the food critic's heart. The graphics by Pixar look as good as real. Everyone should watch to know how great the effects are.

Evan Almighty was another funny movie about Genesis 6:14... Noah building an ark with a pair of animals from each species.... There wasn't a flood but a broken dam.... After all he wasn't crazy just obeying God's word. It was just a movie.....

I had fun for the whole week. 31st August has been planned out well by my students.... outing again!!!

Skating and Movie

Swiissh~! Swiisshh!~ It was so windy... so cooling. No...no!! I'm not strolling by the beach. I was in Queensbay skating as fast as the wind. It was so cool! I really love skating. There was so much fun skating like a slithering snake. Wow! Should go more often. There were 10 of us together. Skated for at least 3 hours with blisters and stomach growling... we went off. Wanted to have dinner in Sushi King but then suddenly walked away to....Have not been eating hamburgers for a long time. I enjoyed eating Spicy Chicken McDeluxe. Always cook on my own so once in awhile let other people earn my money. Then also went to watch a movie....

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in a taxi in Paris. Great movie. Had a great laugh..... Highly recommended by me....

Watched RV by Robin Williams through cetak rompak DVD. Funny movie as well... rather an old movie....

It's Friday!

I'm always very lazy on Friday. I love Friday as it's the last day of the week. Eventhough I'm working on weekends but meeting people on the weekends are different. Totally a different group of people. The weekday groups gelak sampai sakit perut.

Yesterday in Modern Maths class a blur and lawak form four guy, always menunggang-terbalikkan cosine, sine and tangent... I started giving questions and he sat there still trying to figure out which one to use. Everybody was laughing at his blurness. Then, when I gave the last question, then stopped for a few seconds cause one of them was telling a joke, suddenly he said he finished that question already. Hahahaha!!! All of his friends asked him how did he manage to answer the question when my question was not out yet..... Real blur... Anyway, I just finished his project for him and he owed me RM270 as I'm charging him RM15 per piece. Kiddingnya lar... He's going to cook for me kua.....
Justin, another boy, went hiking in Mount Kinabalu last week. He got a swollen and greyish toy coz he slipped and tersepak seketul batu besar. It will take at least six months for him to heal. Again the blur guy asked him what happened. We decided to create a story about his injury. He ended getting the story as Justin was having sex with somebody else's girlfriend, when the girl's boyfriend barged into their room, Justin tried to kick the door closed resulting in his toe terkepit di pintu. Another two hours of laughter and learning. Creative imagination!

This week and next week exam week lagi. Hopefully all of them will survive.

OOHhhhh!!

There's a fourteen years old handsome Iraqi boy in my class. He speaks good English but he speaks no Bahasa Melayu. Looks like I have to teach him from the scratch.... I wonder when will he be able to write a long essay plus writing rumusan..... *Sig* Susahnya...

Kesian.... have to learn foreign language and next year pulak PMR... I have to work harder than him... Pity me... (wallowing in self-pity)

I'm going to have a fun time with my students this weekend. Going skating, they planned to eat sushi but then change plans again... so looks like I just have to follow their plans. Also planning to play at the funfare outside Queensbay. It will be a blast having them around. Anybody wants to join us? Give me a tinker.

The Kid in Me

I have always love this cookie character....
So cute, adorable, fat and lazy...
Last Saturday, I went to Gama Departmental Store. I have not been there for a very long time. I walked around for there's nothing much to buy. Then, I ended up in the kid's department. These are what I bought for myself:

It's Already August!

It has been a long time since I last blogged. I really have nothing write about. My life is running in routine. Classes, notes preparation, outing with teenagers, birthday celebrations, movie marathon and I'm always experimenting with new recipes. My own recipes for sauces.

I had watched a few movies in cinemas. I always think that going to the cinema is a waste of money and time but, now I kinda enjoy watching the movies in huge screens. The sound system is great, too.

These were the few movies that I had watched:

There are other coming movies that I'm planning to watch. I realized that some of the very nice movies are not screened in the cinemas. I will get the DVD then.

This week is exam week again. Another month until UPSR and two months to PMR. I think my UPSR kids are well-prepared but PMR.... hmm....
Conclusion: The older you get, the lazier you are.
I will blog again when I feel like it.

Marvellous!!

This sister of mine and her boyfriend ordered Fisherman Au' Gratin and Chicken Maryland. They asked for it! None of use can finish them but while laughing and burning away the extra fat we managed to finished them up slowly.... Fisherman Au' Gratin was actually seafood lasagna... it tasted awful maybe because my stomach has no place for that. Janice... your mom's lasagna still top my list of lasagnas! Your mom is the best chef! That chicken maryland wasn't that bad but to order this kinda food here it made that dish very costly.

My flown in Alaskan fresh lobster. Half baked with cheese and half grilled! I preferred the grilled side. Love it to bits. Conclusion is it wasn't so great eating lobster. Crabs taste better than lobsters... looks like I don't really know how to appreaciate the luxury of having a lobster on my table.

AARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! Another dish! Seafood sphaggeti. That one ended up in the take away box.... smile... I will not be like others who left the table with untouched food and walked away. So that sphagetti became the next day's lunch for my mom.

Bill not that expensive. Less than half of RM1k. Not bad. Not bad at all!

The Dishes which Filled our Hearts and Stomachs

Escargots.. yummilicious!! Six only so birthday girl got to eat 2. The shell was unique and we rarely get to eat escargots except the last time which was last year at Fisherman's Grill. We were served by the manager of the restaurant. I felt so grand.... hahaha.... then mom asked whether we can take the shells home as cenderamata. He said, "Of course, not! The restaurant has to use them back for other escargot dishes." My sis went, "Huh? Recycle, ar?" Then sheepishly he said that the escargots they are serving comes from the canned escargots so they actually imported the shells.... but in the end he gave me one and he has to report that a shell has gone missing to the main Victoris Station in Kuala Lumpur. I wonder who will be the scape-goat to take the fall.... the chef?? Or other low-grade waiter?? I'm so mean. I hope the manager will be truthful by saying he gave it away to one of the patrons.

The second dish - Mainstreet Course. Black caviar... too salty. Slices of raw salmon... didn't get the chance to eat coz' sis and the rest hentam before my fork reached the destination. Slices of abalone... I figure if they can serve canned escargots then I should be eating canned abalone too. Very smooth and nice. I wonder why some people keep on telling me abalone is tasteless and not nice. To me the taste was just so amazing. Plenty of cold mayonnaise prawns... my taste buds were jumping for joy at the taste of that prawns. Three pieces of raw oyster... very tasty too. Mom and sis didn't dare to try... my sis! Tak berani makan raw oyster but raw salmon pula dia makan dengan lahapnya.

Third dish - lamb with mint dressing. I pula yang tak berani makan. So can't say much but just that it's so-so only.
The fourth one - Fisherman's Platter. A piece of deep-fried salmon. Two pieces of fried prawns. A few pieces of deep-fried squid and two pieces of dunno what yang digoreng tetapi amat lazat.

Perut hendak meletup dah. So while waiting for some food to be digested, we had a hearty conversation. I could say that I have never spoken to any of them for such a long time and having a laughing time together as a family. Laughing with my friends during meal times... yeah especially with Karen, AL, Jan and Justine. So my sis was telling she tak cukup cold cash so I told her about my investment program. Told her not to question so much like other ppl but just daringly throw in the money. That's what she did the next day! I have a great sis! Now I know that my sis DOES LISTEN TO ME! hahahahaha......

My 23rd Birthday at Victoria Station

I have never celebrated my birthday before at such a grand scale. Well.. to me its very grand spending so much on food. It was the heartiest meal ever!!

A cute chocolate cake which I swallowed within a minute... hahaha...oh tidak! I actually ate it slowly coz' I thought I would be getting a large cake as I'm growing older but the sad case here was I got smaller cake each year.

The menu came and since everyone was hungry, we started placing orders. My mom was fabulous... ordering non-stop....

Shark's fin with abalone, shark's fin with crab meat, Mexican red chilli with beans and three bowls of salad on the house. The shark's fin was superb but sis spoiled the one with abalone by pouring too much vinegar before anyone tasted the original taste. The chilli wasn't hot at all and there were lots of beans in there. Not my choice of dish.... I didn't order it :) Salad with different dressing - mayonnaise, thousand island and another dunno what oil with garlic. Wasn't paying attention coz' I didn't intend to even take a spoonful of those... I didn't know how the salad tasted.
