What A Disgrace....

Last Friday, one of my neighbours, who is a 72-year-old active man, died of a heart attack. At around 10.30a.m. he was busy monitoring the grass-cutters to trim the long grasses near our block. He even forked RM10 for each of the workers so that they will do their work properly. After that, he had to take a few flights of stairs just to get home which is on the 3rd floor.

As he reached home, he encountered breathing difficulties. He was just so tired. His wife, daughter and grandchildren were home at that time. He died peacefully in the embraced of his wife.

Here is what that I felt and feel until now... which was and is a shame and disgrace to the medical staff....

Within 10 minutes, his body became cold and he silently slipped away. His wife felt faint throbbing of his pulse. Her immediate response was to call for an ambulance. She dialled for General Hospital. To her great surprise, the person who answered said," Sorry. There is no ambulance at the moment."

Haha... what a joke! Such a big hospital runned by government lacked of ambulances. Therefore, I would like to suggest that government should use the people's money to buy more imported ambulances which can run like an F-1 car... to safe a soul! No need to beautify the roads or even spent so much money on landscaping.

Since Pantai Mutiara is so near, she called them up. Informing them her husband got a heart attack. She requested them to bring along a nurse with an oxygen tank. Actually before she got a hold of them, she had tried calling at least three times. The staff said an ambulance will be on the way. That time was almost 11.10p.m. This is more surprising than anything....

Let me tell you something, time taken from our place to Pantai Mutiara Hospital:
Jogging = 10 minutes
Brisk walk = 15 minutes
Strolling = 20 minutes
Walk along with my dog = 20 minutes
Me walking in high-heels = 25 minutes

Now, that bloody ambulance took 35 minutes. It's an emergency and they reached our block at 11.45p.m. After waiting for so long, the wife and daughter decided to carry him and drive him to the hospital themselves. They carried him all the way downstairs and lo' and behold! the ambulance just arrived. Cool.. they don't even have to use their strength as the wife and daughter were still carrying him. His pulse was still around... Off they went in the ambulance. There was no nurse or oxygen tank in the ambulance. The driver took a slow drive to the hospital like he was sight-seeing and touring around Jalan Tengah.

The moment they stepped into the 'hotel' hospital, he past away.... more surprises to come. The hospital staff insisted that the wife and daughter pay RM350 for the ambulance trip... RM350 for a long trip that killed her husband. If they were fast and efficient enough, he would have lived for a few more years. The hospital staff became rude and told them if they wanted to leave the hospital with his body, they have to pay immediately. Thank God the daughter has her credit card with her....

Whatever happen to the caring doctors, nurses and medical staff? Didn't the hospital management team realized that their big fat and round asses are sitting on the big fat chair and driving around in luxurious cars paid by sickly and dying patients? What kind of treatment is that? I shall give credits to 'ah longs' ... even conmen still have caring hearts.

I agree that everyone work to earn big bucks... but to the extend of toying with a human life? Isn't that too much?

I have heard various complaints about the poor treatment from General Hospital. I have been there a few times. Look around and you'll have to stop complaining. Everyday there are thousands of people getting treated at our government hospital. They face a shortage of doctors and helpers and they have to tend to so many patients coming all over from the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. This is because Penang General Hospital is the most well equipped hospital. We should thank the staff in Penang General Hospital for their ability to cope with so many tasks at once....

Shame on private hospitals which always turn down on dying patients.... why? They are afraid that the patients died and tarnish their good name.... For name sake... humans are really blinded by greed of money and popularity... it's not going to bring them anywhere.

We should always be reminded of these:
No matter how rich we are, one day we will become poor;
No matter how strong we are, one day we will become weak;
No matter how healthy we are, one day we will fall sick;
No matter how independant we are, one day we will be dependant.

Pride comes before the downfall....
I'll bear in mind that we should always humble ourselves and treat everyone as an equal... everybody is special in the eyes of the Lord.

We are so blessed!

Suppose one morning you never wake up,
Do all your friends know that you love them?
Are there any wounds needing to be healed,
Friendships that need rekindling or three
words needing to be said.
Sometimes 'I LOVE YOU' can heal and bless.
Let every one of your friends
know you love them.
Even if you think they don't love you back,
You would be amazed at what those three
little words and a smile can do.
Just in case tomorrow is too late...
If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won't survive the week.
If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 milion people
around the world.
If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
you head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the United States.
If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them,
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God's healing touch.
If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.
You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.

Latest hair-trend?!

I am definitely not into hair fashion.... some can even dye their hair rainbow colour. I still prefer my long, silky black mane.

Looks like she just woke up... she's one of my girls... cute and smart... just came back from Prangin with her cousin...

This is where her cousin stays....

This place is called New Jetty... it's along the Penang jetty. At first I couldn't believe my eyes that these wooden houses are built on stilts. The first picture shows the wooden walkway linking the houses to the main road. If one of the planks break, sayonara to you... off you go down straight onto the seabed. It's murky and slimy... and of course muddy. The smell of the sea can make you cringe. I don't like the smell but it will be a good hideout coz' nobody will know that I'm able to find this kinda place.

There's no barricade in between the houses. You drop down then that's your problem. At the far end is the big wide sea. Wanna commit suicide then jump down. The dirty water will drown you straight away. Never try that though! God will send you straight to hell! Died in the water on Earth, burnt in hell for eternity! Not worth it! hahahaha...... You can actually fish there but I don't see anybody fishing at all. Maybe there's no fish but you can definitely fish out rubbish. The people used to be fishermen long time ago but now there's not even a fisherman around.

From far, their houses look like this during high tide....

The roofs are made of zinc so during the day time especially when the sun is scorching hot in the afternoon, you can feel that you're like a pig being roasted. You can sit with the fan on full blast but you're perspiring like you've been running the whole Penang Island. You'll need air-conditioner to stay in this kinda place... no complains coz' they are used to it.... but for me NO WAY! I don't think I can stand the heat and also the smell.

Maintaining the house is costly eventhough buying the house cost only RM20k. Every other month, you'll need people to cover the stilts with cement. Each stilt costs RM200. There are more than 10 stilts for each house. Bankrupt lor like that!! The reason is the sea washed away the cement and without the support of the cement the house might collapse.

The residents there are not really that hygienic. There are sanitary pads, beer cans and bottles, bras, panties, empty cigarette boxes, cigarette butts, plastic bags and lots more strewn onto the seabed. Thank God tsunami that came on 26th of December 2004 didn't wash them away!

See what I mean?

This is what I meant by 'everyday is Valentine'....

It's not my birthday, Valentine's Day will be coming again next year on the same date and Christmas is not even around the corner....

Collected this at Wah Chan in Gurney... the pendant with my Chinese name and the latest design necklace... No, they're not silver but made of white gold. 100 gram cost at lest RM1.4k.... mine's more than that....

Eventhough I'm wearing a gold necklace right now, but I prefer white gold. Why? There's no resale value. Nobody's going to snatch it from my neck unless the snatcher is purely stupid!

Footwear... my choice will be Scholl. The price is reasonable and I already have two pairs. No point going to Vincci coz' usually I do not get the size that I wanted. I got Crocodile instead yesterday... the price is very very cheap... only RM39.90 compared to Scholl which is RM100++.

Hush Puppies and Clarks will be too pricey. A pair of slippers for Hush Pups cost at least RM164 and for Clarks will be RM269... RM269 for a pair of slippers? I can keep it at home and just see it when I feel like wearing it....

Lucky me too coz this is the last one and the largest size. I'm in size 10 for feminine-typed footwear but Scholl will be size 7... Camel Active is pure leather.... good for walking long distance... Never fancied high-heels, it'll only hurt my feet... take three steps and I might even sprain my ankle.

Nice and small.... that's what I like.... never like big bags...
ELLE from Paris.... izit really from Paris? The fake-branded stuff nowadays look like the genuine one too.... so don't be cheated.

Some people prefer to buy cheap quality bags because bags are use-and-tear objects. Old bag gets torn, get a new one! No matter what, I still love genuine stuff.

This is the Lizard wallet...genuine leather, from Great Britain....
Smell and touch it... you'll know the difference

Brand new stuff for brand new year! Then again... what to do with the old stuff? Can't throw them away coz they're still new and usable.

Nothing Seems to be Right.....

Today is not a good day... woke up at the wrong side of the bed I guess.... but there's only one side for me to wake up from coz' the other side is against the wall... It's just the idiom I guess....

I HATE WORKING!
Everyday is the same... wake up... work.... work... work.... sleep... then wake up the next day work and work and toil and toil.... it has become a routine in my life! and I don't like it at all. There's nothing fun anymore where it used to be. I hate what I'm doing.... should be like Garfield eat and sleep, eat and sleep! Instead I'm surrounded by papers and books!
I HATE COOKING AND MARKETING!
What to cook? What to eat? What to buy? Chicken, vegetables, seafood, fish balls and lots of usual stuff.... Buy prawns then reach home must devein the prawns until my hands also stink! Buy fish have to wash... chicken also wash... spinach lagi teruk wash five times still got sand! Just wish I can eat salmon, cod, escargot, lobsters and venison for most of the days! Repeat dish? No way! I'm not going to cook the same old dish.... try out something new!
I HATE DRIVING!
Look at the escalating petrol price! Isn't that scary? Look at the terrible jam! It's drive you nuts... but compared to KL, Penang's jam is nothing.... there are so many potholes everywhere... uneven roads.... crazy drivers... we always said that drivers who are slower than us are idiots and those who drive faster than us are maniacs! So what are we? We are both idiots and maniacs!!!
I HATE SHOPPING!
Why look at the price before you buy something? Just grab what you like! Forget what people said about fashion... I'm not even a fashion freak! How much is the cheapest in my wardrobe?? RM49.90 for a simple Hush Puppy t-shirt.... then comes the question.... where does all the money go? Shopping!! A day of shopping spree for me is like spending RM1k buying nothing! It was suppose to be a lot.... but in the end I felt so unsatisfied.....
I HATE MYSELF!
What to do with myself? Dunno.... I don't like my hair.... it's so frizzy... I don't like wearing spectables.... I don't like my fat body!! So what do I like about myself.... the answer is nothing! Do I love others? The answer is obviously NO! How to love others when you don't even love yourself? Silly....
TODAY IS JUST NOT A BRIGHT AND SUNNY DAY FOR ME!!

Everyday is Valentine....

What a good sense of feeling it is to know that you have someone dear loving you deeply.... I am a person with strong opinions and today I'm going to say that it is not necessary to spend so much money for a gift on Valentine's Day. It is even better to get a new surprise everyday than waiting for February 14 to come. I consider myself a very fortunate girl to have someone with full of surprises for me everyday!

Love is not just a bunch of roses, a bouquet of teddy bears or even a box of chocolates. Well... if you view love as a bunch of roses, I don't think you'll feel very happy. The roses will start to wilt after a couple of days and eventually die, I do not want the love that I get to fade and die just like the roses. Therefore, having someone you truly love and cherish is more important and priceless compared to any gifts that the world has to offer.

MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS!
That's the Casio's latest model with hearts in the background. Kinda special and the most important thing is that I love it!
Here's the tips on how to love a person, follow these and you'll find that life is more meaningful and peaceful.... you will not regret trying out these tips coz it's God's formulae....
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-keeping, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3
We should carry out our actions with love. No point working out of hatred or obligation.

Tropical Spice Garden

My next destination after the Toy Museum....

I don't have to tell you the name of the place since you can read it... it's bright and clear!

Entrance fee is RM13 but RM20 with a guide. Pretty expensive no wonder not many Penangnites come over. Kedekut! Don't find much exciting thing though.... a lot of plants like oil palm and some other special plants which makes you stare in wonder... God is so great. There's this kind of plant which the fruits grown from the top right to the bottom. When the fruits touch the ground, the whole plant will die.

This is the fan palm... if I have a landed property then I will consider planting this in my garden as it gives shade... nowadays the weather is just too unbearable!

Oh! This is the first time I get to see a pineapple plant. I have seen the plant without the pineapple before. So small and it's edible when it's ripe...

The flower on the left is called the 'naughty boy' ... well by just looking at the flower I guess I do not have to elaborate where the name comes from... :) Erectically cute!

That is the Mayan Hammock. It is a Mexican hammock, based on a centuries-old craft, hand-woven from strong cotton cord. In the Mayan peninsular, the hammock is used as a chair, bed or for off-ground storage. Can actually sits up to 3 persons but some huge visitors have hurt the hammock with big tear... hmm... I can still fit into it.

I like visiting these kinda places... so jungle like... I guess I just love nature walk....

Walking with the guide is very informative too... I just know that black and white pepper comes from the same plant. The black pepper is taken when the seeds are matured. The white pepper is taken when the seeds are matured and 100% ripe. Then there's tongkat Ali and also Kacip Fatimah plant.

Bunga cengkih cannot be eaten too much coz it'll be poisonous in our body... it's used in the production of kretek cigarette by Indonesians. Our good government bannedr the dangerous kretek cigarette to protect our health but brainless people somehow or other illegally bring it into Malaysia.... so sad.... go against the law just to destroy their own body! Stupid!

The Toy Museum

My third day of CNY was spent in a good way too.... Therefore, I would like to show where I had been and promote Penang to you as well.... Just in case you do not know what place on Earth is that!

The entrance fee is a little too high. Each adult is charged RM10. I have a lot to comment about this Toy Museum.... but since I'm not in a hurry, I will share with you what I liked most. Too bad can't put all the photos in!

The whole building has been decorated according to the Pharoah of Egypt's pyramid. It looks sort of eerie and dark... this collector has a lot of demonic and satanic toys... this is the toys which I condemned. There's Spawn, Chucky, and many more which show witchcraft.

Aww... look at the huge Bugs and Wile E. Coyote standing next to each other while Scooby looks on.... you can never see this in cartoons coz these three do not appear in the same films.

This has been my favourite since I was young... and I still love it. Wish I can own all the Garfield stuff... I used to have the shirts and I still own a Garfield pillow without the body... only the head. Hope somebody will give me a full length Garfield for my birthday.....

Now, the whole family of Looney Tunes! How come there is no Animaniacs? There's Tweety, Sylvester (for once not chasing each other), Taz (I have a bigger Taz at home), Daffy and mostly repeated stuffs in different styles and angles.

Look at the Brother Bears.... There are other toys like the whole set of Barbies (but never like Barbies) ... there's Starwars (also I don't like), Sesame Street & Co. and Doraemon, Chicken Little, Finding Nemo, all the rest of the Walt Disney cartoon characters. Too bad I can't upload all the wonderful pics....

It's said that the Toy Museum is owned by an avid toy collector. I have doubts about that. The whole place plus the collection of toys might cost up to a million dollar! Even the boxes are well kept. Now, this is what I have in mind.... the collector might be a wholesaler of toys or even an importer. He might be churning a lot of money from the entrance fee collected on the visitors and buy more toys. The thing is there are only 60% of toys belonging to him put up in the toy museum. He always changes the toys. Where does he keep the old ones?

I felt cheated as if the toy museum showed collection of limited edition toys or even toys collected in the 17th century or even older then I will feel satisfied spending my time there. I saw the Spawn collection in Gurney when I went there.... therefore it really makes me think... even Toys-R-Us can be a better Toy Museum as they own imported and better toys. There are many shops in Prangin selling soft toys, they can also open a Toy Museum, but the difference is they are selling the toys but Toy Museum displays the toys.

On the way to another destination, I saw this building....

Yeah... it's the modern floating mosque.

Chinese New Year Outing...

This year's CNY is the worst I guess! The first day of CNY I sat in front of the television .... falling fast asleep... trying to keep my eyes open to accompany my lonely soul... actually can't wait to drive back to Penang... Penang is so much fun to be compared to the ulu place in Sungai Petani.

On the second day, I stayed in bed until 2p.m. while my sis went off to work.... my sis is a workaholic!! After reading Reader's Digest for half the day, off I drove to Giant in Bayan Baru. But haven't reach Giant we went some other place for lunch upon my sis' request.

The three of us went to Secret Recipe in Penang... actually I wanted to go to KFC but my sis didn't want to.

Ordered some interesting stuff to eat.....

From left to right: Chocolate Marshmallow Cake, Mushroom Chicken and BBQ Chicken ( tasted more like my sweet and sour chicken). Lastly the expensive Banana Split.

Eventhough I can make the banana split on my own, but it's worth paying people to cook for you once in awhile.

After dining, off my sis to work and me mom and I continued our journey to boring huge Giant. Things there are not very cheap unless there's a tag showing its under promotion. Then went home for awhile to keep our stuff newly bought... mostly household stuffs.

After 10 minutes of resting, off we went to Tesco but on the way there mom changed her mind and we went to the newly modified Youth Park. Now it looks so nice and so many people go there for a jog or just to spend time with their families. In a way it's a healthy activity compared to spending time shopping and wasting more money on unnecessary items which only become the white elephant in the house.

Things in Tesco are still the cheapest around. This may be because they trade using pound therefore they don't feel the pinch charging at lower price than the ceiling price for some controlled items.

Shop around until 10p.m. then only went home.... I considered this as a very good outing coz after that I'll have to work round the clock again for 7 days a week... that time I can't even go window shopping anymore.

Now I'm only looking at my calender and wait for the Raya break to come... then I'll have another week of holidays..... wah have to flip the calender so many times.... must be still a long way to go... but actually when I start to work it feels like Year 2006 is gonna end as fast as it comes!
