Solomon often reveals the truth by contrasting it with the opposite viewpoint. Despondency, affliction, evil anxious thoughts and foreboding against the provision of a glad heart and a continual feast of blessings regardless of the circumstances. Each day we have a choice.
If you find real health of mind you will have gone a long way toward finding health of body also.
~ Health depends to a large extent on mental attitudes as well as upon the spiritual condition of a person ~

For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The Furious Longing For God..

The other day in Borders, after reading 'Have A Little Faith' by Mitch Albom, I browsed through the Christian books corner. Borders do not carry a lot of Christian books compared to MPH. One of the books from the shelf caught my attention. I could remember neither the title nor the picture on the cover.

It took me quite a while to find this book again. I was pulling books after books from the shelf and when I was about to quit out of sheer disappointment, the book was calling me from one little corner of the shelf. Hidden from anybody's attention. There were a few scriptures that caught my attention as I've come across these scriptures while studying the word of God during my quiet time.

... I no longer live, but Christ lives in me...

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Footprints In The Sand...


The Fern & The Bamboo...



One day I decided to quit....


I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. ...


I wanted to quit my life.


I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.


"God", I said.


"Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"


His answer surprised me...


"Look around", He said.


"Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"


"Yes", I replied.


"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.


I gave them light.


I gave them water.


The fern quickly grew from the earth.


Its brilliant green covered the floor.


Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.


But I did not quit on the bamboo.


In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.


And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.


But I did not quit on the bamboo".He said.


"In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.


But I would not quit.


In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.


I would not quit."He said.


"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.


Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.


But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 Feet tall.


It had spent the five years growing roots.


Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.


I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."


He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots.


I Would not quit on the bamboo.


I will never quit on you.


Don't compare yourself to others."He said.


"The bamboo had a different purpose than the Fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful."


"Your time will come, "God said to me.


" You will rise high!"


"How high should I rise?" I asked.


"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.


"As high as it can?" I questioned.


"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."


I left the forest and brought back this story.


I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you........

How to 'really live' according to the Bible depends on how well we listen and obey the teachings and truths presented to us.
Each day we have a choice to receive or reject divine truth. God gave us His Word 'for our good' but we must choose to listen and obey what He says.
The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.

Dear LX...

I would like to keep this short and sweet. Please take note that ALL my entries in this blog has had nothing to do with you. Not even a single word is related directly or undirectly hitting out at you. Please forgive me if you feel this way. I have no intention to have any sort of war of words or even a slight sarcasm with you. I'm taking this giant step to say sorry for any miscommunicated information you received from whoever it may be. Thank you!

I've read the whole set of Shopaholics collection in MPH. Now that my membership has expired, I have changed to Borders in Queensbay. Read that last year...

The More You Dig...

The more you dig, you thought you may find something worth it. But at the end of the road, you find a whole pile of shit. And it's everywhere. The shit flew and covered your face. It's all over your body. You even find it up in your nostrils and stuck under your fingernails. I'm covered with shit! Oh God, help me!

Words...[107]

One of the strongest subjects Solomon deals with in showing us 'how to live' is how we handle words and how we speak.

Your words are either bullets or blessings and when you open your mouth your mind is on parade. Solomon describes death producing speech as:
It has been stated that 70% of our conversation is to ourselves and 70% of that is negative. "To keep a person mentally healthy, it takes 12 positive statements to counter ONE negative statement".

Chinese New Year 2010

As you grow older, the celebration becomes duller. It's more like a family gathering with reunion dinner. Dinner after dinner... it's all about food...

Then house hopping to but no red packets this year round. Only internal circulation. External all stop at once.
Then, of course bonding time. Not among cousins but me with the nieces and nephews. A few cousins of course... my favourite niece...
Games... Twister...
... and also Wii... it's great dancing with the kids.. after much practice, I won!!
Then it was food... and more food... this year I was not in the mood of snapping photos...
Starbucks with 15 people. The place was kinda small but it was to celebrate another niece's birthday. Initially we wanted to go to Secret Recipe but then the Secret Recipe in Village Mall has only one type of cake left - Durian Cheese. I don't think the kids will like it.
Had my face coloured... don't like it at all...
... but I like the hair-do...

Total Boredom...

Taking a flight is a total waste of time. I do enjoy flying but not the waiting time. Waiting for departure. Waiting for luggage. Waiting for this and that... When there's nothing much to do, whip out the camera from the bag and start making everyone the star of the nite...
Those are beautiful smiles... Come on.... all of you can do better than that...
Yay! Lovely fingers... then it started to get bored. I myself was bored waiting for the boarding time... Those faces reflect how bored they were...
Almost dozed off when suddenly... time to board the plane!

A Visit to the Pig Sty...

Oink~! Oink~! Not my first time there. In 2008 I think I had another post but this time round the photos came out better. Used to stay there during the hols when I was small... not staying in the pig sty la... stayed at grandma's house. The cock crows before the sun rises. Then, the stench of pig shit... oh, my... but then now it's cleaner. They bathed the pigs every few hours so that the pigs will not be bathing in their own shit plus food.
Cute little piglet. More pic in my fb album... too lazy to blog and upload photos in fb at the same time. Tedious job...
