Smoking....

The government spent a huge sum of money to carry out the campaign 'Tak Nak'. This campaign is to target the younger generations to warn them about the dangers of cigarette smokings. Until now, I can see that this campaign is going nowhere as the warnings have fall on dear ears. Nobody seems to care about the deadly diseases resulted in being a heavy smoker.

People whom I know have been smoking since the day they were in secondary schools, could not stop smoking because of their addiction. Some reason it out because of tension and pressure faced in work places and also in their private lives. By huffing and puffing the stick filled with chemicals and cleaning solutions, they find refuge and relaxation. I think this is bullshit!

In my opinion, those who are smoking are actually burning away their hard-earned money. Why not just connect their mouth to the exhaust pipes of their motorbikes and they can have the joy of smoking too! *sigh* Humans are really difficult to understand. Some are so highly and educated and know the downside of smoking but they seemed to be hook to it like a curse.

Let's see what we can find in a stick of cigarette.....

With the knowledge that all those substances above are used to produce cigarettes, any human being with a right mind should stop smoking immediately. Yet, they do not take heed eventhough so many warnings have been posted to them in various ways...

Humans come to your senses if you want to live a better life. No point making so much money when you can't spend it well... but help make the hospitals richer.

KFC's O.R. Chicken Chop

The latest dish introduced by Kentucky Fried Chicken. The thickness of the chicken meat is worth the price paid. With only RM8.90, this mouth-watering dish for chicken lovers, is also quite filling to the empty stomach.

But some may find it not worth the money because in hawker centres, the chicken chop costs less than RM6 and customers get a fair portion of chicken too.

Eating it once in a while is okay... but having it everyday... No.. No..

Little Creatures....

Ohhh.... look at that cute wormie.... dropped out from the plastic bag filled with vegetables. Thought it was dead but when I poked it with a sharp scissors... ooohhhh... it was curling and squirming.... pretty much alive. If it didn't fall out I would have accidentally touched it when I was washing the vegetables. Then my reaction would be screaming my head off!! The legs are all very small.... I threw it into the dustbin. Didn't have the hear to swat it with rolled-up newspaper or even cut it into pieces.... left the poor guy with a few leaves of vege so that it can survive and grow....

Found this flat little fishy in the stomach of a big squid... actually not the first time... sometimes the stomach of a large squid can contained at least 3 small fishes.... swallowed whole.... I wonder how the squids digest their food.....

God Always Answers Prayer....

When the idea is not right God says, "No."
No - when the idea is not the best
No - when the idea is absolutely wrong
No - when though it may help you, it could create problems for someone else

When the time is not right, God says,"Slow."
What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of your fingers. Do you know what would happen? God would become your servant, not your master. Suddenly, God would be working for you instead of you working for God.

God's delays are not God's denials. God's timing is perfect. Patience is what we need in prayer.
When you are not right, God says ,"Grow."
The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.
The cautious person must grow courage.
The timid person must grow in confidence.
The dominating person must grow in sensitivity.
The critical person must grow in tolerance.
The negative person must grow in positive attitudes.
The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.
When everything is all right, God says ,"Go."
Then miracles happen:
A hopeless alcoholic is set free.
A drug addict finds release.
A doubter becomes as a child in his belief.
Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins.
The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying,"Go!"
If the Lord has you on hold... hold on!
If the Lord has said "NO" to you... thank Him!I
f the Lords is molding your heart and mind... go with His change!
If the Lord opens doors that you have asking Him to open... Praise Him!
Be blessed wherever you are in your life today!
God has His hands on the situation!
You say: God says:
It's impossible All things are possible ~ Luke 18:27 ~
I'm too tired I will give you rest ~ Matthew 11:28-30 ~
Nobody really loves me I love you ~ John 3:16 & John 3:34 ~
I can't go on My grace is sufficient ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15 ~
I can't figure things out I will direct your steps ~ Proverbs 3:5-6 ~
I can't do it You can do all things ~ Philippians 4:13 ~
I'm not able I am able ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8 ~
It's not worth it It will be worth it ~ Romans 8:28 ~
I can't forgive myself I forgive you ~ 1 John 1:9 & Romans 8:1 ~
I can't manage I will supply all your needs ~ Philippians 4:19 ~
I'm afraid Cast all your cares on Me ~ 1 Peter 5:7 ~
I'm always worried and frustrated I have not given you a spirit of fear ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 ~
I'm not smart enough I give you wisdom ~ 1 Corinthians 1:30 ~
I feel all alone I will never leave you or forsake you ~ Hebrews 13:5 ~

Never Ending Escapade.....

My new found hobby... and my new place to splurge my cash and credit...

My new collection of clothes will be filled with dresses, skirts and blouses. Found this when I was ruffling through the dresses in Sunshine Square... this white dress fits my body very very well...by Nicole... not that expensive... Janice... nice or not? My new plan for shopping... shop once a month... but during festive seasons with crazy sales I think I'll buy the whole wardrobe again... Ahhh..... what a nice feeling to have this kinda money to buy what I wanted. I have never realized that shopping can be so much fun.

Sunshine Square is not my new shopping haunt.... this is new to me... never know that the clothes can fit into my body... hahahah.... until I tried them out....

Hah! Do not buy clothes which cannot fit into your body and then go on diet just to wear that clothes... Always buy something which fits your body comfortably.. that's the way to dress and that's the way clothes should feel... COMFORTABLE!

I will never get a dress smaller than I can wear just to motivate myself to go on diet!! I'm so blessed!

Another Place to Dine...

Looks like my all my entries are mostly about food. Maybe people who read my blog must have thought I'm extremely fat coz' it's like I'm eating non-stop. Tuesday, 11th of April, was a public holiday. I shifted all my classes earlier so that I have time to pamper myself. For dinner I went to this restaurant in Bayan Baru. There's nobody there coz' they just opened for dinner. They closed in the afternoon coz' there's nobody at all. So I had the restaurant all to myself. al.. if you're reading, this restaurant is upstairs of the old Suiwah.

Not bad... air-conditioned some more. I took a long time to order coz' this is not a seafood restaurant. I'm not good in ordering and I guess I haven't master the skill of ordering wonderful and delicious food. Mainly due to language barrier.... whatever they recommended I don't seem to understand a single word. *sigh*

Hot plate toufu... I still prefer the abalone egg toufu from Hai Boey. Give this a credit.. Hmmphh! I like the hot plate. It's the shape of a cow and I have never seen that kinda cow-shaped plate before. The 'chiap' mixed with rice also not bad... Not bad as in not bad... I'm not saying good either.
Just don't know why I don't really like the taste of Chinese toufu tasted kinda sour.... Boleh tahanlah.... I'll give it a star....

I think this one better... coz' recommended by the auntie there. If by their recommendation then I think must be nice.

Wah!! Cuttlefish with dried chillies.... I took a piece of the cuttlefish.... chew.. chew...chew..chew.. and I still haven't swallow... chew some more... ayo... teeth also coming out liao... chew...chew.. chew.. I GIVE UP! *phui*... wah! This cuttlefish is too elastic cannot chew... *cheh* Not nice also... some more too much vinegar. I think that auntie recommended coz' not many ppl order this dish... so have to sell off the cuttlefish before spoil... Can only bite the small pieces....

Vegetables again.... this is called 'chai sim hwa'. Basically 'chai sims' are bitter but this one not bitter. Stir-fried with garlic... the normal dish for vegetables. Not bad... not bad...

I think not enough to eat.. so few dishes only. So ordered another one... tasted it in hotel restaurant before... one of the eight-dish-course...

Herbal chicken... they used the aluminium foil to wrap the chicken and also a layer of plastic sheet inside... What type of plastic sheet is that? No chemical reaction? Don't know... Oh... Just eat lar.... Wow! That is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! The herbal soup... superb! It's half a chicken.... I ate two bowls of rice because too hungry already.... cannot tahan! If more delicious I can even eat three bowls of rice... Don't care about how fat I am I'll just eat. We are blessed to have food so why starve ourselves? Eat! Makan... Jangan tak makan! People in other countries want to have three meals a day also find it difficult. Here in the country flowing with milk and honey .... eating 6 meals a day is not a big deal!

Okay!! Paying up time! Bill please! I was calculating in my mind... this dinner must have cost at least RM50 and above coz with this half chicken lor... then when the bill came my eyes almost popped out... I even asked the auntie a few times... correct or not. I also asked for the pricing for each dish...
Herbal chicken : RM15 (hahahaha! So cheap??!!)
Cuttlefish : RM8 (si meh??!!)
Vegetables : RM6 (normal price everywhere)
Hot plate toufu : RM6 (cheaper than Hai Boey)
Total : RM38 (with rice and chrysenthemum)
Banyak murahlah! Murah! Very very cheap! Next time must go some more... I will order 'pai kut ong', belacan chicken, salad prawn and squid with dried chillies next time! AL... after Hai Boey then next round come here!
Line-dancing in the open area? Cool!! There's even a stage set-up for the instructor... the dancers are formed by a group of oldies... very well-organized... Very health conscious.... I wonder when I will start to be a health freak?! I think I'll never be one.

Seeing is Deceiving

On the left is Golden Thai Seafood Restaurant and on the left is Bali Hai Seafood Restaurant. Both have the same logo and motto ( IF IT SWIMS, WE HAVE IT) . Almost the same design with attap roof huts, live sea creatures and a wide range to choose from. This is what I have in mind: Are these owned by the same people or is it one of the partners break the partnership and purposely opened another one to spike the other? Business is business! There's dim sum in the morning and in the evening .... obviously seafood lar! Been to Golden Thai Seafood Restaurant but not this newly opened Bali Hai... from my view, there are more patrons in Bali Hai... so is business dropping in Golden Thai? I think so! Today not planning to dine in either one of the seafood restaurant!

I have been eyeing a food court which is brightly lighted. Kudos to the 'tauke', the light attracted my attention.

Wah!! Fatty Palace Food Court... the stalls' "chio pai" all very big. Must be very good lor..... the moment I reached the place... I was cursing high and low... stupid punya! I stupid or the food court stupid?! I think I was the one who was stupid enough to get tricked by the props done on this food court...

No food also... got but I can buy cheaper and tastier ones from Jalan Tengah! Curry mee, hokkien mee, western food, ikan bakar - gila punya ikan bakar all string ray only, like the whole market or sea has no other type of fish, chee cheong fan, chu char - lagi teruk, the workers said want to close liao so don't want to sell for me, but a family who came after me get to order! Wah ! Really pissed off!! Berat sebelah! Got extra business also don't want!.... I ended up eating this... the most sought after food in Penang but I HATE IT ! Char Koay Teow lar... what else.... *cheh* I
won't step my foot into that place anymore!

A Good Choice....

It has gone off for some time and then made a come back with no publicity at all. The business was bad maybe because lack of publicity.... I wonder why didn't the management waste some huge amount on publicity to get their sales up? In KL it's doing great just that in Penang it's not that hot!! Still it's my choice to choose having my meal here....

Yeah... this is the place that I missed having my meals. When I was younger, I used to have my meals in A&W which used to be in Sunshine Square. This is in Gurney Plaza... there wasn't even a single customer. So I walked in and after 1 minute, more customers entered. Hahaha... what a joy to see people coming to the same place to add to the merryment....

I have always like the crispy chicken.. doesn't taste too salty... just now... I love the chicken skin especially...

Hayoo... no Thai chilli sauce. If there is, I bet this chicken will taste superb!!

There are a few new items in the menu. No harm trying.

The fish fillet tasted like John dory... this plate is quite filling but the chilli sauce... too salty leh... not so nice.

There's fish burger as well... hah! That tasted EXACTLY like McD's fillet-o-fish... the sauce, the fillet itself... tiru arr? Where did they get the recipe from? Can't be from the same source... but A&W's price is lower. There's fish bites too... tasted like ikan kelar..... quite delicious but not up to my expectation... quite an expensive fish... but I get to eat it always so not that special ....

My favourite onion rings and also the must have root beer....

Thumbs up to A&W!! I have had an enjoyable meal...

Where's The Quality Control?

Usually I will not make a big fuss over small matter but since McDonald had it pasted on their bulletin board about having good quality control, I can't help it but complaint to the manager 'bout this rotten piece of fry.

Can't really blame them coz' I think the staff was too tired and didn't bother or didn't even see this rotten piece mixed with the good ones. It's always like that, huh? Out of everything good, one rotten, you get complains....

Sense of Security

Turn around and look around yourself. Do you feel secure walking alone in the broad daylight? The answer is no. You won't know whether you've been mugged by some crazy person. Maybe the crazy person picked on you randomly. Nowadays, it's not safe to go anywhere either alone or with a group of people.

What about when you have to go to the banks at night? Why go at night? Well... probably to avoid queueing up and also to avoid the hassle of looking for a proper parking spot. Anyway, now most banks have cash deposit machines which work 24 hours. But will you feel secure going in there alone and how do make sure that you'll be safe and sound when you walked out of it.... or even will you walk out alive? Some may think it's crazy but think about it for a moment... do you actually know when you'll die or how will you die? I bet those murdered victims didn't even realize they died a terrible death and were in the front pages of national newspapers.

Our country has purchased a lot of equipments to secure the land and its people. Buildings hired security guards and make sure there's proper lighting so that patrons will feel secure walking in and out of the buildings. Take a look here.... this is very different....

Can anyone make out what the two squarish lights are? Well that's EON Bank in Jelutong. The two lights came from the screens of the ATMs. On the right of the ATM is the cash deposit machine which I used. Thank goodness I have my handphones in which I used the light from the screen to shine myself in punching in the numbers.

I can't even see the slot to insert my card or even to insert the cash. Since I'm used to the machine I just fumbled about and managed to get out of the place after 5 minutes.... my longest time in using a cash deposit machine.

I won't stepped there at night anymore... Just wondering, EON Bank has no money to pay for electricity or too poor to get a repair man to repair the lights??

Well done... OCBC... very brightly lit bank. They even hired a security guard to look after the place for the night. I wonder who's looking after what... or is the bank a shelter for the guard? He's even snoring and not even bothered when I stormed into the bank... so loud I even frightened myself... but he's not even awake! Such a nice slumber... who doesn't want that kinda job? You're paid to a full 8 hours of sleep but I think he slept more than that... that time only 11p.m. and he was snoring like a pig already.... cooling some more... the air-cond so powerful.. how many horse power huh??

If by any chance robbers enter... the guard will shoot himself coz' too groggy when just woke up so won't know where're the nose of the gun.... *sigh* That's why Malaysians are always criticized for their sikap sambil lewa.... this one too lewa already....

I'm glad to know that I have someone watching over me....
Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over your will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Psalm 39

I said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin;
I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence."
But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything good,
my anguish increased.
My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
"Show me, O Lord, my life's end and the number of my days;
let me know how fleeting is my life.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man's life is but a breath.
Selah
Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro;
He bustles about, but only in vain;
he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.
Save me from all my trangressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.
I was silent; I would not open my mouth,
for you are the one who has done this.
Remove your scourge from me; I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
You rebuke and you discipline men for their sin;
you consume their wealth like a moth - each man is but a breath.
Selah
"Hear my prayer, O Lord,
listen to my cry of help; be not deaf to my weeping.
For I dwell with you as an alien, a stranger, as all my fathers were.
Look away from me, that I may rejoice again
before I depart and am no more."
This book of Psalm speaks so loud and clear.... that's my prayer.....

A Pleasant Dinner

Can you imagine a high class dinner at a hawker centre? I'm a person who loves surprises and also fascinated with what the world has to offer.... especially food. Penang is really a food haven no wonder so many people are over weight.

I can't remember the name of the hawker centre but it's situated opposite Penang Chinese Girls' High School (Ping Hwa). There are many types of food to choose from.... right from the common hawker dishes like Char Koay Teow, Curry Mee, Hokkien Mee, Laksa, Chicken Wings, Claypot Chicken Rice to specialities like Western Food, Pizza, Pie Tea, Ikan Bakar, Yong Tau Foo and lots more.

So which stall did I choose?

The food that this stall has to offer, you can find them in fine restaurants not in hawker center. But here it is right at the corner of this place.

What's so special? Look at the name of the stall.. Padrino... Italian Special. The chef used to work on the cruise ship. After working for more than a decade he decided that land is more suitable for him than sea. Thus, he set up this stall. So the customers are really lucky to be able to taste such great food at a low cost.

Then what was my choice of food then?

TA - DA!

That's a plate of Cheese Chicken Turkey Ham. There are potato covered with cheese, underneath the turkey ham is the chicken and in the middle is the cheese plus spaghetti which is so tasty. The whole plate is so filling. I would have cost me more than RM10 in a restaurant but this is only RM7. The price is really good!

That on the left is Carbonara Chicken... if I spell it correctly. It's a piece of crispy-fried chicken. The sauce is mixed with milk so took a longer time to prepare. Same portion of spaghetti and potato and also some salad. Price is also RM7... very filling too!

Earlier on... like last year or so I tried the pizza which is cooked over wood.... very aromatic...

What's Wrong With the World?

The world is both a good and a bad place to be in. There are three philosophies about our Earth:
  • The world is moving round and round. Therefore whatever happened in the past will happen again in future. War that took place a century or more ago will happen again.
  • Zig-zag graph. Good things and bad things take place alternately.
  • Bad things happened consequently followed by goodness all along.

There are four responses from human towards things that happen around them:

  • Ignore. Take no heed in whatever that's happening around you.
  • Cover up. Eventhough you realize what's happening, pretend that you neither see it nor hear it.
  • Indiscrimination - self-denial. Refuse to absorb in the truth. This usually happens to those who fear the result of knowing the truth which might hurt them and they are not able to handle the pain.
  • Diagnose the root cause of the problem. I prefer this! Always look for the root cause then kill it off... Like fighting cancer.

If we looked back in the past, we should be able to give a hand to ourselves. Why? We are such good actors and actresses in and out. The difference is that we're not paid like the Hollywood and Bollywood stars. Ignorance is an easier choice when trouble comes. Our life has been more and more complex that sometime we cannot even understand what is happening to us. I want a simple life... No headache.. But as the saying goes "No pain, no gain". When we experienced something, it's suppose to teach us to be wiser. BUT there's always the other side of the coin. It might also destroy us. I know for one that I'm rotting inside. I'm always fighting against myself. It's like having two people living in me. I do not like living like that.....

I like this verse a:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27
