Reunion Dinner

Today drove all the way to Sungai Petani to grandma's house for reunion dinner. Preparation for the dinner was easy as there's lots of aunties and Indonesian maids to do the work. Therefore, I just sat there and waited at the table to be fed.... no lar of course I feed myself lar.... so big already some more need people to feed me meh? All in all there were three tables with 10 family members at each table... so if you know your calculation it's 30 people loh....

What's so fun about having reunion dinner? Last time reunion dinner was the time where all family members get together after not seeing each other for some time. By the way we eat steamboat for dinner... got various type of fishballs, big prawns but this year not so big, chicken, fish, rice and even noodles.... not so fun anymore lar... don't have the feeling of chinese new year anymore... it's more like usual dinner just that there are more people around.

Look up at the sky! Cheh... no firework also.. who's fault? Never blame the government... it's because some irresponsible people who played firework but ended up burning down the whole house... *sigh* I'm waiting to collect more 'angpau' tomorrow. Looks like that's the only best thing is left collecting the red packets.

I used to be the youngest around but now there are so many new members around.... my nieces and nephews... I'll show you my cute nephew's photo....

Yesterday was my birthday.... I got THREE birthday cakes.... Can you imagine that?
The second and the third cake are the same.....

*Sigh*... dunno what to do write liao lar... midnight liao my nephew is watching 'George of the Jungle' for the umpteenth time...

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Hong Pau Na Lai! Wow! I just can't wait for Chinese New Year! With all the 'bak kua', extremely huge prawns, reunion with the family members whom most of them I can't remember and last but not least I'm able to receive the money! That's a real blessing.

Too bad this time round no firecrackers. I can still remember the red firecrackers which was as tall as a double-storey house. It always made me run and hide coz of the loud crackling sound.

This year will be the Year of Dog.... well I don't believe in 'feng shui' 'bout what's gonna happen. To me everything is in God's hand.

Hey, take a look at this! Looks like even one of the unwelcomed member in my house can't wait to taste the delicacy of Chinese New Year...

That poor creature got stuck on the 'nien gau'.... can't even turn the body left or right.... later on my mum scraped away the top part and freed the little culprit.

Opening Ceremony!

Today marks the opening ceremony of my internet marketing business.... I will always remember today which is ..... 13th January 2006. Finally, I have open another business. I really thank God for helping me through all the obstacles and challenges.

Last year, I spent at least RM10k to attend a three-day course at eOneNet.com. Sad to say, it's a real waste of my money as I did not learn anything. They wanted us to fork out more money to host our own website. I'm on the verge of giving up... then I attended another Internet marketing seminar after two weeks of mental torture.

I attended Patric Chan's two-day course. He taught more about selling ebooks and infoproducts. I don't have any idea on that... therefore I used his method for my tangible products website. He called us 'wimp' to push us to get going but his way of supporting us backfired. We gave him a piece of our mind. At last, he changed his tactics and helped us through willingly.

Those who are interested to attend Patric Chan's seminar, feel free to drop me an e-mail at seahorse27@yahoo.com. I will recommend you to the coming seminar.

The are many self-proclaimed Internet gurus out there. Most will tell you that eventhough you're not computer and Internet savvy you're able to do it. But from my own experience, if you do not have good command of English, if you are not computer AND computer savvy, if you do not have clean back accounts and if you do not own any credit cards, making Internet business something real to you is a big no-no! You must learn the business strategy as well. Moreover, you need to design your own website unless you're willing to pay other people another few thousands to do it for you!

I'm so happy right now that I'm grinning from ear to ear. By the way, my birthday is coming and Chinese New Year is just around the corner. .. that makes me even happier. I think I'm the happiest girl on Earth right now!

NEVER GIVE UP!

Finishing the R.A.C.E.

RUNNING FOR GOLD
Education is the key to success! Education is able to set a person free from poverty. Education has made us into somebody who's knowledgable and wiser... but because of our exam-orientated education system, so many had turned into bookworms where they only study in order to pass the examination. After being spoon-fed for more than a decade, they are not able to stand on their own feet to get an easy job. It's like a bird being caged and when let go, does not know how to used its wings or grab the freedom it's given to.
In a race, every participant aims for the gold medal. In a tournament, every participants set their eyes on the gold trophy. In order to win, you have to put in a lot of effort and sacrifices. Nicol David trained so hard since she was young therefore she won the gold trophy... she deserves to be the world champion for squash.
Working adults will be running after gold... that's money. Without money there are lots of things that you cannot carry out. Think again... though... if you have too much money will you be happy? No! This is human nature... when we get what we wanted we want more of everything. So, in the end, how should we run for the gold and get the 100% satisfaction that we have actually achieved something?
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.
To those not having the aw I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law.
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:19-27
Looks like I better set my priorities right too... Never hold on to earthly things for they will not last forever. Never trust your friends for they will turn back and bite you one day. Only trust in the Lord!

Marketing & Cooking Expedition

Since I was young, I have made up my mind neither to enter the kitchen nor wash my own clothes. As time past by, I can see myself having fun cooking in the kitchen. I started cooking my own Maggi noodles using the microwave oven when I was 19. I tried frying bulls-eye eggs the next year but never succeeded in doing so. Suddenly I was cooking like a professional at the age of 21... went to market on my own in the middle of the year... how strange.

Having bad communication skill in the 'Hokkien' dialect proved to be a disadvantage. There were a few times I didn't know how to say what I wanted to buy. I hate eating vegetables but my mom wanted me to cook at least a dish of vege everyday. So here goes the 'malu' case. The vege auntie asked me whether I want to buy 'ang chai tau' to cook soup. I was staring and searching for 'ang' vege but I only found red chillies. So I was thinking to myself why would I need red chillies for my soup... yucks@! Therefore, I refused to buy. The second and third day she asked me the same thing.... so on the third day I gave up and asked her what is 'ang chai tau'. She took up the carrots and showed me... I was like a clown in the market... the rest of the customers starting laughing like nobody's business!! Damn 'paiseh'.

Went to the fish stall... I only know prawns, stingray and shark. The rest are alien fish to me. How come school didn't teach 'bout fishes huh? How do you know whether the fish are fresh or not?.... check the eyes! How do you know whether the prawns are fresh?.... feel the body... all these taught by aunties aunties o'er there.

Off I go to the butcher... wanted to buy some pork... but only know 'char siew' and 'sam chan'. Auntie asked me which body part of the pig... I stared at her blankly... and replied I dunno! Since then until now I don't buy pork coz' I don't know which part of the pork I wanted. Should buy the head and put up as wall decoration.

I don't like to repeat dishes so I'm thinking how did some of the housewives managed to cook for more than 50 years. I have to think for at least a day on what to cook for the next day. I even go to the market with a shopping list in hand...hhmmpphh... respect to the elders who are so wonderful!

Science Confusion

Learning and teaching about our heart is kinda interesting. I have a class of all boyz who are very interesting and imaginative. I used to study science in our national language when I was in form three too. I don't think I question a lot that time... just swallowed whatever that was written in the book in order to pass examination.

Now... arteries are suppose to transport oxygenated blood except for pulmonary artery. Veins are suppose to transport deoxygenated blood except for pulmonary vein. These confused them deeply. I wonder whether last time the scientists who came out with the names of parts of heart made a mistake. Since scientists are not so neat in doing their work, they might left their mistakes unchanged. Or there's no invention of eraser yet. I'm just wondering....

All boyz.... I wonder where are the girls??

Procrastination

Wow! It actually took me a long time before I start my own blog. Hey, AL, I really love reading at your humourous blog. I would recommend you to be a critic-writer after you finish your studies.

Firstly, I don't know what's the point of writing this. Whatever it is, at least I've started something for Year 2006. This is kinda silly I guess. No doubt it's not my New Year resolution to have my own blogspot but I think I've actually managed to start on something.

Well... when I have interesting stuff then I'll surely add on to this blog of mine. For those who read this, thanks for spending your leisure time reading at my unique and original thoughts.
