Day 17: The Real Holiday Begins~!

~ 30th March 2014~
Our real holiday started when we arrived in Shenzhen. After our usual dim sum at Indonesia Seafood Restaurant, we decided to walk a bit to see what we could have for dinner. Yeah, we're always thinking about what to eat for the next meal before we have our present meal digested completely.
There was a new shopping mall which Pinky's mom said we should go to. Actually we're just using it to reach Wal-Mart in a more comfortable way. Instead of walking along the perimeter of the building which we usually did, now we could walk comfortable in air-conditioned building. The Overseas Chinese Town Shopping Plaza was a new place but since two years until today, the tenants in the shops have not increased neither have the number of patrons increased. The number of those using the place to go to Wal-Mart did not increase either. People still prefer the old walkway to go to Wal-Mart, I guess old habits die hard. The walls were decorated with 3-D art. They're free but we did not take all the photos. We're just too tired and still recuperating from our tiring Taiwan trip.

We went to Wal-Mart to see what we could carry home. We enjoyed going to Wal-Mart... a lot~! If there's nothing to do at home, I'll just go to Wal-Mart and buy some nonsense home to munch.
After Wal-Mart we walked out to the OCT Comprehensive Market just outside. It's actually a wet market where the farm produced were way better than what Wal-Mart has. Do you know what we get from China's export was terrible? The vegetables in China are of better grade than what we received. The radish we had from China was bitter whereas the radish in China itself was sweet. Pinky's mom said by the time shipment from China arrived, everything has aged. We went to our favourite seafood stall to get our fresh scallops and green mussels. This time round we didn't see any stone fish.
So, for the rest of the day, we skipped lunch because we had hearty breakfast and grandparents usually take a nap in the afternoon. After that I was busy running after China TV series. It's so unlike Astro but it's also a paid TV provider. The difference was you don't even need to record the movie you wanted to watch. Each program and channel will still be there in the history box that would last for a week. We just busied ourselves with so many series. Grandpa has full control of the TV remote because I could not even read a single word to find the right channel or the right movie. We watched TV for many hours and many days. That's the best holiday ever to recuperate.
