Day 7: Amusement Isle, Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village...

~ 20th March 2014 ~
Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village stretched across a huge piece of land up on the hill. There are three different parts that one should explore all around until one could not feel one's legs anymore. I'll split my post into three different parts as well to be fair to Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. Such beautiful place should not be lumped into one short post with hardly anything to talk about.
The Aboriginal Ropeway...
Under the umbrella of the Amusement Isle itself, there are so many different parts that somehow or other, you might find a child in you to enjoy them. After Pinky has just gone through the ordeal of going up and down the mountain peaks and slopes, she was in for another surprise. In order to get to the Amusement Isle, the only ride in was not a shuttle bus but through the Aboriginal Ropeway. Thank God for another companion bear in the cable car. See, she's not even looking at the beautiful scenery. I was really mesmerized by the beauty of Taiwan when I was there. Please ignore those who stated that there's nothing beautiful to see at Sun Moon Lake. In my opinion, if you love the beauty of nature, you will like the place by just sitting there and staring into the sky. If you want some excitement, get to the Amusement Isle then. Taipei is just the mother of all cities in Taiwan that's modernized but I just couldn't move my heart to even like that modernized old city.
Mayan Adventure's suspended roller coaster...
I think we stopped at the wrong place for our first stop? It's mentioned somewhere that the Aboriginal Ropeway would connect us to the Aboriginal Village, which was another section of the three-part huge piece of land. But from the cable car, you would be able to see the Mayan Adventure's suspended roller coaster. I think that's the one. We looked at that and we knew it's not suitable for the three of us. The three of us' ages sum up together would be more than a century years old. Yeah, sounds really ancient. So, no to that suspended roller coaster. We might not survive that. If I was a decade younger, then I'm okay with that.
My bear rice...
After walking all over the place, finally we had our lunch at the Mayan Adventure section. The restaurant almost ran out of food and it was their closing time soon. They serve lunch only. And I missed having that bear pudding because the whole place was filled with students and their nannies teachers. A table with all teachers bought all the bear pudding. I was upset for being slow and late in arriving. We came across the restaurant but was undecided whether to have our lunch there or not. After walking all over, that's the only place to have lunch.
Pinky's bear rice...
At least we had two plates of bear-face rice. Mine was with the chicken while Pinky had her pork chop. Mi mama just taxed from us as mi mama wasn't a big eater. I could finish two plates though. That explains much about what kinda eater am I.
Relaxing...
You can actually take an afternoon nap on the wooden hammock hung outside. If we have all the time in the world, I would rest there for awhile before marching on. The place was too big and time was our greatest enemy. If only time would stand still when I take photos but that wouldn't be possible. We would be frozen in time and not get to do anything.
Gold Mine Exploration...
I think that was the Gold Mine Exploration with a 50 feet final drop. We didn't go on that because we thought we wouldn't be able to survive that kinda high altitude final drop. I think we were out of our mind.
The Carribean Adventure water coaster...
From the cable car, we could see the Carribean Adventure water coaster. It was really high above ground.
Carribean Adventure...
While we thought that we couldn't survive a 50 feet final drop, we went ahead with all the school children to get a ride on the famous Carribean Adventure ride. At the middle span, we were moving backwards and then it turned to the front. It was a full frontal 100 feet drop and crazy us were seated somewhere in the second row. If I was still a teenager I would scream out of exhilaration like those school children and wanting more of that, but both of us were screaming our heads off because the drop just made your heart felt like it was displaced and ran off from the alignment. Crazy and stingy us refuse to purchase the raincoats because we wanted to save money.
Useless body dryer...
We were so wet from head to toe that we could hardly walk. Then, we ended up spending more money instead of saving some by standing at the body dryer. The body dryer was as terrible as the clothes dryer in hotels and homestays. Nothing went dry. I ended up walking under the hot sun to dry myself. Such a waste of money. The Carribean Adventure splash was one good one but I just don't like that kinda feeling when the drop happened.
UFO Adventures...
Another part which we didn't play anything except to claim our gifts after collecting all the stamps was the UFO Adventures. There was this tallest free-fall ride. I think it's just like that direct drop like the one in Guangzhou Tower but in a different setting. That Guangzhou Tower drop was the one which took away my guts and never return my guts to me. Maybe I should go to the Guangzhou Tower drop and pick up my guts but I don't think I will do that in the near future.
Aladdin Square....
There's this Aladdin Square. If you have little children, they would love it. We have grown out of this long time ago. As you grow older, the best thing to sit on would be that merry-go-round. Confirm it won't break any of your bones. Laughable right? There's a skytrain that we took from here. I don't have any photos from the top because you should know that looking through the camera screen and looking at the real thing is totally different. I was enjoying the view of the Adventure Isle instead of taking photos. Resting my finger and saving memory space.
Teddy forest....
There's this teddy bear theme all around. We went and take lots of photos of those teddy bear lying around the forest trail. If you don't like teddy bears like how I like them, then you would think this place is so lame and a total waste of time.
Materials for teddy...
I can't remember what's that all about. Maybe it's just showing us what material they use to make teddy bear or was it a workshop to teach us how to make our own teddy bear? Can't remember at all but I'm pleased to see that they use the DMC thread which I used for my cross-stitching.
No bus to be found...
We thought of taking a bus to enter into the Aboriginal Village. That would save our energy but the bus drivers were off duty for their lunch break. We ended up walking which means we walked the whole entire Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and at the end of the day, mi mama's pedometer recorded 22 000 steps. Whee~! That sums up my whole year of walking back at home....
Shoe... shoe for sale~!
Oh, someone dropped one side of his/her shoe. What a pity.... are you limping home or you throw away another side, too?
Merry Christmas~!
Anyway, Christmas is just 7 days away. Have a blessed Christmas~!
