Mount Up in Prayer...[10]

Pray continually
[1 Thessalonians 5:17]

How long will that be then? 3 days? One week? 2 years? 5 years? Our time frame and God's time frame is different.

"It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."
[Acts 1:7]

Pray without ceasing. You get bored with the same prayer, then you stop? God's not bored. He loves to hear our voices. Did you just pray because you need something from God? Why give God a limit and a due date? Then, grade Him depending on how He performs? *I'm not shooting anyone down in this particular post. Be more open-minded. I've changed my writing skills* If you can spend so much time communicating with friends, repeating the same issue over and over again, how come you can't do that with God? You can't hear God or you're too afraid to hear Him or you've never even ask to hear His still small voice? If you can pray and fall asleep while praying, I guess God can't hear you. Speak to Him clearly. Let your voice be heard.

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
[Luke 11: 9-13]

How sure are you that you'll not be happy with what God has prepared for you? How sure are you? How do you know what's going to happen in future? You're not even sure of tomorrow. Don't mention about tomorrow. You won't know what will happen to you in the next hour or minute or second.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
[James 4:14]

Prayer is a privilege. God is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He knows everything you ever did and He still loves you! He knows your future too. He has the best plans for your life.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
[Mark 11:24]

He cares for you so much that He gave His Son so that you could be with Him forever. You can talk to Him about anything that concerns you. Tell Him your desires and passions. Share your concerns for your loved ones. Talk out your fears with Him. Communicate to God what is inside you without fear.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
[Philippians 4:6]

Prayer may be accomplished in many ways. The best way is to be natural, just as if you were in the room with Him. He is very anxious to hear every word you say. You can say whatever is on your heart. He’ll even listen to your anger and sadness. God created us to have free will. He wants us to come to Him willingly and not as robotic creations. He has given us a mind to make decisions and the most important decision is about eternity. Even though He knows the future, we don’t know the future choices we will make. It’s important to live by His guidance to make the right choices. When you pray, God listens to your cries. When you don’t pray, God feels left out of your life. As you pray consistently, you are affirming the existence of God in your life. You are building your faith as you see God’s hand do His mighty work on your behalf just because you asked.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
[2 Peter 3:9]
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
[Matthew 7: 7-8]

Who do you pray for? Yourself and your family only? Widen your circle...

...bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
[Luke 6:28]
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray.
[James 5:13]
...pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
[James 5:16]
"Pray that you will not fall into temptation."
[Luke 22:40]

The best way to pray is to pray in the Spirit...

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
[Romans 8:26]
