From Nobody to Somebody...

Pastor Dong Campoy is the Senior Pastor of Glory Christian Centre. What do you expect from a man like him? Most of us who are able will look down on him, will not even go near him, will not even strike a conversation with him. He used to be a beggar at Luneta Park in the Philippines.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. [1 Corinthians 1:27-29]

He's a victim of polio and growing up in a very broken family, God brought him out victorious. As the result of loving God, he served God in every way he is able to. I give him all due respect for how powerful he is in the house of God. God blessed him with a wife and four beautiful children who served the Lord diligently, without complain.

Crippled you say? Useless? He's more able than any of us. The way he worships and praises the Lord will put all of us with good limbs and all-seeing eyes to shame. After the concert by Pastor Dong Campoy with his family and worship team, I have to come home and give myself a thorough spiritual check.

In the fulfillment of their calling, they formed the Mephibosheth Worship Team consist of mostly the blind, those from the broken homes and those who find no worth in their lives before knowing God. Pastor Dong Campoy, who used to be a begger, took them into his own home, clothe them, feed them and give them the education that they needed. He wasn't born a blind man. That's Bryan. He was into drugs, sold drugs and an abuser himself. One day, an accident happened when he was out with his friend. His left eyeball literally popped out of the socket, he had multiple head injuries and in all the pain that he was experiencing, fighting for his life going through one after another major surgeries, he went crawling looking for God. He surrendered his whole life completely to God and God gave him a second chance to live. She's different. She was born blind because her mother was suffering from German measles when she was in the womb. She has a university degree so how come our teenagers who are able can't even do well in major examinations? Lack of knowledge or too complacent with life? She has the most powerful voice that I've ever heard. After looking at them, I will never doubt God's power for even a second. He is the ever living God. They're still going to be in Malaysia this week. Stopping in Malacca now and then going off to Kuala Lumpur. I hope those who are in Malacca and Kuala Lumpur will take the initiative to find out where Pastor Dong Campoy is going to be.
