Argument 1: Christ is not God because He had flesh and bones and God, being a spirit, has neither flesh nor bones...
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
[John 4:24]
Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.
[Luke 24:39]
Jesus Christ as man had both flesh and bones but as God He was a spirit. His objection rises from the problem of the dual nature of the Saviour. In order for the invisible God to become visible, He must become flesh and bones. Argument 2: Christ is not God because Christ has a beginning and God has no beginning... I will proclaim the LORD’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father.
[Psalm 2:7]
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
[Psalm 90:2]
Jesus as a man had a beginning when He was conceived of the Holy Ghost but Jesus as God is without beginning and without end. Argument 3: Christ is not God because he has been created and God has no beginning... To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.
[Revelation 3:14]
A true translation sounds something like this, "He was the witness of the beginning of the creation of God," not a creation but a witness of the creation.
Argument 4: Christ is not God because Hosea 11:9 says that God is not a man, while Ezekial 28:2 says that man is not God...
For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you.
[Hosea 11:9]
“‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god. [Ezekial 28:2] Hosea does not say that God could not assume human form of body and flesh. Nothing is too hard for God...
“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. 18 You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the parents’ sins into the laps of their children after them. Great and mighty God, whose name is the LORD Almighty
[Jeremiah 32:17-18]
... and He can be manifest in the flesh.
Argument 5: Christ is not God because God is His head according to...
But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
[1 Corinthians 11:3]
In a triumvirate it is necessary that one be the chairman but that does not mean that he is greater than the other two. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equal but for administrative purposes the Father acts as the executive administrator. Argument 6: Christ is not God but He is a son of God, just as we may become sons of God... but that does not make us gods... By conversion we become a 'son of God'... Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
[John 1:12]
... but Jesus Christ is the 'only begotten Son of God'.... For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
[John 3:16]
... a unique and special position. God's Son is equal to the Father... Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage
[Philippians 2:6]
Argument 7: Christ is not God because He was made Lord by God in... Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
[Acts 2:36]
It is not made in the sense of a promotion for though He always was God, the Father takes this opportunity to proclaim this fact to all humanity.
Argument 8: Christ is not God because Christ died and God is immortal and cannot die...
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen
[1 Timothy 1:17]
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. [Luke 23:46] Jesus as man died but Jesus as God could not and did not die...
But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
[Hebrews 2:9]
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil
[Hebrews 2:14]
... It is that physical body that dies. The spirit does not die for it returns to God.
Argument 9: Christ is not God because He prayed to the Father and addressed Him as the 'Only True God'...
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent
[John 17:3]
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live
[1 Corinthians 8:6]
Those 2 verses are not the only verses to proof that God the Father is the one and only true God...
All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
[Matthew 11:27]
The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me
[John 12:45]
Argument 10: Christ is not God because He was only an 'idea', 'will' or 'purpose' of God, having no material existence or material form in the beginning...
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was with God in the beginning. [John 1:1-2]
This is perhaps a play on the words in John 1:1-2, but verse 1 answers it definitely and authoritatively, The Word (Jesus) was GOD."
