The Book of Daniel...

Daniel (Belteshazzar) and three of his friends, Hananiah (Shadrach), Mishael (Meshach) and Azariah (Abednego) are four whose faith for God can never be shaken. They stand for their own rights and go to the extend of refusing to eat the choice food of meat laid on the table by King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel is able to interpret all the dreams by the kings. When the king built the image of gold to be worshipped by all, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah refused to bow down to the image of gold and ended up being thrown in the furnace of fire, heated 7 times stronger, but God sent His angel to walk through the fire, unharmed.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” [Daniel 3:16-18]

Even when Daniel is thrown into the lions' den, he is not harmed by the lions as the angel of the Lord has been sent to shut the mouth of the lions as Daniel has done no wrong towards God or the king.

Sometimes, our prayers are not answered immediately because of war in the realm of the heavenly. Like how Daniel's answer is delayed because archangel Gabriel has been delayed by the king of Persia and God has to send archangel Michael to retrieve the message to be sent to Daniel. There's always bound to be a delay when satan is working over time to destroy what is good from the Lord.
