The Story of My Donkey...

There lurks, perhaps, in every human heart, a desire of distinction, which inclines every man to hope, and then to believe, that nature has given himself something peculiar to himself.
~ Samuel Johnson ~

Once upon a time, there was a baby donkey owned by a rich merchant. Baby donkey was borned on the 31st of March. On his first birthday, he was forced into slavery. The moment baby donkey opened its eyes, he would find his back loaded with goods to be sold from door to door. It was a tiring work. Donkey was subject to verbal abuse as Donkey daydreamed while trotting on the cobbled stones. It was dreaming about Calvin & Hobbes and Donkey made up its own imaginary friend to escape from the harsh reality of life. Baby Donkey can't read the road signs and kept forgetting which lanes to turn to. Baby Donkey tried very hard to recognize the letters without mixing them up completely but could not tell the difference between the letter 'b' and 'd'. Baby Donkey made a vow to itself that if there's a chance to runaway, it would find a better path for its own future. It was sick of being a door-to-door salesdonkey.

One day, Donkey made a brisk sales on its own in town. Without the master tending to it, Donkey decided to take the money from selling all the silverware and made a run to the airport. By now, Donkey was big enough to venture out on its own and fend for itself. Donkey took a flight out to London from Singapore. It was a long journey but worth it. The first thing Donkey wanted to do is to emulate the human race. As a salesdonkey, Donkey wanted to understand the trade further. Thus, it registered itself to take a degree on economics and management. After grasping the knowledge, Donkey felt the need to continue with its tertiary education and bring it to a higher level. After gaining wisdom thru work experiences in different companies and succeeded to public list the companies, Donkey took a bold step and took up education and special education to widen its horizon on those with learning difficulties. Donkey felt impelled to push forward and make an impact in the lives of those with learning difficulties. Before taking a big leap, Donkey refuelled its knowledge by grabbing a master's degree in business administration and also educational management at the same time. After hanging around in London for a few years, Donkey decided to trot the globe and made a beeline to South Africa. Donkey did not go there to visit Nelson Mandella but went there to learn more at the 12th best university in South Africa. By then, Donkey was all fired up with educational management and special education - learning disabilities. Donkey was so hyped up with collecting more information and soaking in more knowledge that he took the next flight out heading towards Australia. That is where Donkey got its master in counseling and psychology and also its PhD in Psychology. Donkey went back to find its merchant with full of confidence. The merchant saw things differently. The once cute innocent little donkey has been defiled. The Donkey came back with a permanent head damage. By now, Donkey came back with a deep thirst and hunger for security, self-worth and significance. Donkey knew about Jesus the Saviour. Donkey confessed that its a Christian, doing good for the people but Donkey later on erased God out of the picture and put itself on the throne. Donkey came out with clever things to say to be accepted. Donkey wanted to be praised by humans of all walks of life. Donkey forgets that from ashes it comes, to ashes it will go and it has to return to its Maker no matter how high it climbs in the social ladder.

You're my virtual pet. My Donkey... you'll always be my Donkey unless you decide to make a drastic and positive change to that. The ball is in your court, my Donkey. This one is dedicated just for you....

When God wants to drill a man, and thrill a man, and skill a man;
When God wants to mould a man to play the noblest part;
When He yearns with all His heart to create so great and bold a man
That all the world might be amazed;
Watch His methods, watch His ways.
How He ruthlessly perfects whom He royally elects.
How He hammers and hurts him, and with mighty blows converts him,
Into trial shapes of clays which only God understands,
While his tortured heart is crying and he lifts beseeching hands.
How he bends but never breaks, when his good He undertakes.
How He uses whom He chooses and with every purpose fuses him,
With mighty acts induces him to try His splendor out.
God knows what He's about.
